I am a history buff, one of my favorite subjects is military history(especially african american military history). I have been searchin the net for histories, accounts, biographies, autobiographies and diaries of African Americans in the 1800s. I came accross the diary of William P. Woodlin of the 8 USCT Colored troops. The diary is recorded during 1862 and 1863. I have recorded and uploaded it to the internet I do hope you enjoy. Ok Friends I apologize for not blogging more but I have been very busy working on a website I am trying to put together that well focus on social issues. Anyway part of what I have been busy working on is a audio black history website , it is my goal to make black history available to the world to download on thier computers or Ipods to listen while going about thier daily routine. Once we have gotten establish I will look for volunteers and a board of advisers to decide the ultimate vision and objective of this website. Lynching

For a while now I have been Facsnated with the tale of lynching in this country.The tale of lynching includes all races in this country. But it is more than obvious that black people where the overwhelming victims of this shameful american pasttime. This is a very rich and exciting real life story. This story features thousands, perhaps millioins of ridiulous incidents. Things such as W. E.B Dubois finding a black mans severed Knucles at a downtown atlanta department store, or James Weldon Johnson almost bieng lynched by the Florida National gaurd for escorty an african american lady who looked white in public, or the spectacle lynching of Jesse Washington, or the lynching of Marry Turner.

I plan on following up my podcast and presentations with podcast of those who are experts in the social sciences and histories of past times in america. The excuse/justification for lynching was usually rape of white women by black men. But a careful study of the recorod reveals the real reason for this discaple behavior was simply southern societies refusal to accept black people as human biengs or treat them as human biengs.

It is only posible to treat humans the way white southern society(america to be truthful) treated black people after you have convinced them and yourself that they are inferior.

I plan to follow up this post extensively with other post about lynching in more specific details. My aim is to demonstrate that the Federal goverments and State Goverment allowed and even assisted a system they knew violated American Laws that ensure freedom and protection for all citizens. It is my objective to use material that is well verified and acceptable my all credible historians and socials scientist which will prove that the federal and state goverment knew that present was responsible for

1) Murders of thousands of black people
2) Attrocities committed against black people
3) Policies instituded that cause the black population great pain and harm
4) Taxation without representation

This is a podcast of a history lecture given by Margaret Humphreys, M.D., Ph.D.,. This particular topic was on health of African American soldiers during the civil war. At the time thier were drones of chatterous non-sense about African American soldiers claiming that the reason more of them died from disease during the civil war was because they were inherently weaker.

This was part of a larger and overall social agenda of uplifting the white race while smearing blacks and holding them down. The reason why more black men got sick during the civil war is

1) Worse living accomendations.
2) Many of the African Americns comming out of slavery were physically broken down from years of overuse, abuse and neglect.
3) Black men as a policy were giving the dirty, hard and most labor intensive work details.
4) Black soldiers also recieved the worse clothing and shoe allotments as well as lower salary salary

Black History Audio Project Summer Youth Job Project

I have a plan to provide 100 jobs to DC Summer youth employees. If implemented correctly I believe this job will instill pride and achievement inside of those participating. It will also benefit the larger public by provided audio history to the world via the internet for free I in the form of Mp3 downloads and Podcast. The job I am talking about is an audio history technology job, meaning the youth would read classic black history historical text into a recording device upload it into an mp3 then I will do the rest..

The only things the youth would need to work this job is a simple recording device, or PC, they could record into, after which they would upload it to us. . Each kid would be assigned a separate book to record. We would keep recording until the summer was over with.

We would try to find a school, recreation center ect for us to use as an office I have experience doing this. We could get Summer Youth Employees they really need worksites for the youth. Now for the supervisors of this program we could get a grant from AmericaCorps to train the people we want working on this project. .

The youth would come in regular hours 9-1, Monday through Friday for the 5 or so weeks those summer jobs last. The youth would record as well as research further historical text to record. Then they would upload it and send it to me. The supervisors would train and suppervise the kids on behalf of the overall project. This is also a holistic project in which we would seek to instill dicipline, hardwork, teamwork as well as confidence The end result would be as many as 50 autobiographies and historical document recorded and uploaded in 1 summer. These black historical pod cast will be made available immediately to the entire world via The black Audio History Project webiste and or blog. The kids would eventually record , and upload their audio work to me. I will add appropiate music and then publish it to my website and blog.

Whats even more progressive about this idea is this, it will make some rich historical black history text available to the world. It would cost the government any extra money. It will involve lots of volunteers and interns which will further bring cost. The black history audio project will be designed to grow and adapt to the needs of the public. Here are some text I would like to start with. I could even mix in some of the actual music if the autobiography is a musician. Once the Project gets big enough we will turn it over to the black community in general for stewardship.

lil hardin " Armstrong" remembers Louis Armstrong

Lil Hardin was born in Memphis, Tenesse in 1903. She grew up learning how to play music on an organ that the family owned as well as playing in the church.
